This program makes use of an older Rebol module, which works fine up to Ubuntu 10.10, but not in Ubuntu 11.04 onwards.
None of the currently available Rebol modules appear to work in Ubuntu 11.04- at all.
However, there is a workaround for the older Rebol module supplied with this program:
1. OPEN UP THE SYNAPTIC PACKAGE MANAGER
2. ENABLE UNIVERSE AND MULTIVERSE REPOSITORIES
Do this through the Settings/Repositories menu at the top.
3. INSTALL XFONTS (as shown)
4. INSTALL THIS DEBIAN PACKAGE:
rebol-2.7.8.4.3-4.i386.deb (Click to download)
Once downloaded, if you double-click on the file, it will be opened up in the Ubuntu Software Center as follows:
After installation, a launcher will be created in the menus, but you do not need to use it, and you can remove it if you wish:
All versions of Rebol (including older versions) should now be runnable on Ubuntu. If you wish, you can test the Rebol module supplied with the current
program by double-clicking on it. If it opens up as shown, then installation has been successful. (When the Rebol module is employed by the current
application, it will remain invisible):
