If you want to quickly produce a webpage for the purpose of presentation, using text only, then
this is the program you need.

Your English or Portuguese text can be in any mixture of fonts, sizes or colours, and you can
position it on the page wherever you want. And if you want to make it more attractive with a
background wallpaper image, this is also possible.

Run the Howsoft Rich Text Editor for Linux within a folder on the HD (e.g. on the Desktop). It creates all kinds of temporary files within its own
folder, and for this reason it cannot be run successfully from CD-Rom.

Edit text much as you would from any normal word processor. However, there is no automatic wrap when a line reaches the limit of the text
editing box on the right hand side. When you want to start a new line, type ENTER.

If you want to alter the general placement of the text on the screen (correspondingly in the HTML file produced either tempoarily (for preview)
or permanently (using save) for diplay in your browser), click on the “Turn Grab ON” button. You will then be able to drag the text editing box
to the desired position, and you can also adjust the size of the text box by dragging its sides. When you have finished, click on the button
again to return to editing mode.

Do NOT save your rich text files from the browser (e.g. Firefox) when previewing. These are incompatible with the Howsoft editor, and cannot be
successfully read in by it. Only files created by the Howsoft editor itself can be read by it. So save your files from the Howsoft editor using
the menu or button provided. And if you choose to have wallpaper as a background for your text, the wallpaper image will be saved to the same
location as the output rich text file (HTML script).
