If you have downloaded SpamGobbler, you must have seen the release notes. Please read them carefully.
Before you can run SpamGobbler for the first time to get rid of your spam, you need to configure your e-mail accounts. This is just as easy, if not easier, than you have to do when setting up your e-mail program (e.g. Evolution or Thunderbird). Go to the "Setup" menu and choose "Accounts":
This will open up a screen with some fictitious account configurations:
Here, you see 2 sorts of e-mail account configuration. In the first one (see line 1 for example), your login name is simply "joebloggs" and this will be combined with the 2nd and 3rd items of the server name to form the account "joebloggs@mysite.com". In the second one (see line 3 for example), your login name corresponds already to the address of the e-mail account "hiclassuser@hiccup.com".
If you are not sure whether you should use the first format or the second, try the second one, and if it does not work successfully you can return to this configuration screen and try the first one.
It goes without saying that the example accounts above need either replacing or removing!
Next, select the "Mail Program" submenu as shown above, and you will be shown the following screen with instructions provided. This is so that when you click on the large button on the right at the top of the main SpamGobbler screen, it will call the e-mail program you normally use:
